Each time I use my Inktense pencils I fall in love more. I created 22 of these cards for a swap I joined for the local Scrapbook Expo. With a whole lot of coloring on these magnolia flowers, I sharpened these pencils and never had a breakage. I LOVE these pencils. These pencils have “ink” in the title because once you color you can also take a blender brush with a little water and the color will intensify (hence the “tense” part of the name of the pencils). Layer the flowers by starting with a white base, when using black paper. Use a scratch piece of paper and working with the colors to find the look you want. I also blended the pencil strokes and colors with a blender nub (stump). It really helps the coloring blend.
The Altenew Fancy Greetings Sentiment stamp set paired with the Altenew Magnolia for Her stamp set are a perfect pair. . The black panel was also embossed with the Diamond Netting embossing folder from Fun Stampers Journey. It really adds another layer of depth to the card. I added a small piece of glimmer paper behind the sentiment to add a little bling to the card.
I am still pretty new to coloring but the more I play, the better I like the results. Don’t be afraid to take a chance, get out that product that you have that you are afraid to use. You may just surprise yourself!
