Sending Happy Snail Mail

December 29, 2020 Leave a Comment

In 2021 I want to send out Happy  Mail to random people each week.  My first batch of cards will be sending Happy Snail Mail.  This card makes me smile.

This is another card without any stamping.  The Designer Series Paper is so awesome, you can create a card without stamping.  I created this card from just the paper.    I decided to cut out all of the larger images in the designer series paper and just have them on and when I create a card.

Measurements and Tips

When you adhere the stickers to the stamps do NOT toss the center circle from the word bubble.  Keep this circle for a stamp to create some fun polka-dot background.

5 – 1 1/2″ x 5″ strips of printed paper (both DSP and the polka dotted paper I created).  Keep in mind that if the paper is directional you can only use the top portion of the paper.  I chose to use the other side with non-directional print for the second card.  Put these into the trimmer and cut diagonal.

I have paper already cut to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ in my drawer so once I stamped the polka dots and cut the strips, I ended up with a 1 1/2″ strip which I cut in half for the bottom of the inside of my card.

I like spacing between my sunburst image so you can do this one of two ways.

  1. You can use the colored paper of the space (in this case Real Red) for your base color for the starburst pieces.
  2. You can cut strips of paper and add them on the seams.  This adds dimension also.  You can use liquid glue or better yet adhesive sheets for this.

1 – 1″ x 5 1/4″ Blushing Bride cardstock strip embossed with the polka dot Wrapped in Texture embossing folder.  I also add a strip of the colored “space” paper above this like an accent strip.

The Sending Happy Snail Mail video shows you how to create the sunburst technique.
