I played with two different techniques while creating the Sending Hugs and Wishing You Well cards. The first one I simply stamped and colored with Stampin’ Blends.
Again I used the Color & Concord bundle dies. I really love these dies. Now let’s talk about that ribbon. The Open Weave Ribbons are amazing to work with and create bows. Use the “HUGS” die to cut out the letters and glue the, on to add some dimension. I then took the Basic Black marker to trace the letters.
On the second card I chose to watercolor it. I first embossed the image in gold embossing powder. I laid down some color as a background. Then I went back in with the markers and water to add more depth and darker shading to create a fun and easy watercolor technique. I cut the HUGS from Polished Pink cardstock and added Wink of Stella on the letters.
This technique is a great way to fill the void of white space behind an image. I love it when I remember a technique that I haven’t used in a long time. I decided to add some Wink of Stella to the larger flowers too. I finished it off with some of the GORGEOUS new 2021-2023 In-Color Jewels.

Additional Things to Know
The first Stampin’ Up! value statement is this: we care about people first. What does that look like? Caring about people first means treating others with kindness, respect, and equal consideration. It means working together towards a common goal, helping each other through life’s challenges, and celebrating one another’s accomplishments. It means including others, even when we disagree, have contrasting life experiences, or simply see things differently. Caring about people first is our greatest strength!
In honor of this value—and in the spirit of World Diversity Day—we’d like to celebrate what makes us unique through what brings us together: creativity!
