Sweet Symmetry with some Shimmer Ombre and Fancy Fold – Stampin’ Up!

May 25, 2021 2 Comments

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by.  I had so much fun creating with the Sweet Symmetry with some Shimmer Ombre and Fancy Fold cards.  I love how these photopolymer solid stamps stamp.  The images are nice and crisp.

I love the Sweet Symmetry DSP.  It is a smaller print which is perfect for a background so you can put a larger panel on the front like this flower image and still see the pretty print in the background.  I think Stampin’ Up has really stepped it up with their DSP.  I always have loved their paper but making the images smaller was brilliant in my opinion.  Look how changing up the colors and DSP create more fun and easy cards.  Which one is your favorite?

Measurements

  • After you fold the cardbase, you want to cut 1/4″ of each side of the front panel.
  • Cut the front DSP to just slightly under 3 3/4″ to cover the front panel left to right.  In these photos I did cut the length at 5 1/4″ but in the video I cut one of the DSP panels t 5″ and really liked the pop of the solid cardbase color to show through a little more.
  • On the inside, adhere your normal 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic white panel, add the strip of DSP that you cut off from the front piece to the bottom of the writing panel.
  • Cut two strips of Ombre Specialty Paper at 1/2″ to add to each side of the INSIDE of the card.  This is what shows through to the front where you cut the panel down.

I used the 2nd largest die from the Scalloped Contour dies for the white panel that I stamped the flower onto.

Video

In this Sweet Symmetry video will show you how I created these cards.  I would really appreciate it if you would take the time to subscribe to my blog and YouTube.  I have been working hard to expand my social media presence and with your help I can continue doing that.

There are a few tips and tricks that I recommend on the video.

Three pretty cards Marcie! My favourite? That’s a hard one but I’ll say the navy one.

Hi Kylie. I think the Navy is my favorite too but I LOVE Flirty Flamingo so that is probably why.
