Birds & Branches make a great card of any kind – Stampin Up

October 25, 2020 Leave a Comment

The Birds & Branches bundle is another stamp set that creates a scene.  This scene is just a peaceful birthday with a lot of texture and technique.

Measurements

Pool Party Card Base is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/4″, scored at 4 1/4″
Pretty Peacock back panel is 4″ x 5 1/4″, embossed with the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder.
Early Espresso is 3 5/8″ x 3 7/8″
Whisper White 3 1/4″ x 3 1/2″, embossed with the Woodland Embossing Folder.  Add Smokey Slate ink to the background side of the folder before you emboss it.  Take a baby wipe or tissue and lightly clean the tree as best you can.
Layer the same size vellum on top of the Whisper White piece to pop the birds and nest pop on the card as the front image.

Colors and Tips

On the nest I used Crumb Cake and a dauber to dab a little Soft Suede around the bottom outside edges.
Stamp the bird with Early Espresso and Pretty Peacock inks.
I used Pool Party for the eggs and the speckled stamp from Waterfront to add speckles with Pretty Peacock ink.

Die cut the branch out with Early Espresso cardstock and then stamped the pallet image from the Pallet Thoughts stamp set.  This gives the branches a little more texture.
Cut another branch and leaves with Old Olive.  Take the Mossy Meadow ink and the leaf stamp and randomly stamp them onto the leaves.  Cut just the leaves off and attach them to the early espresso branch image.

Stamp the flowers with Mango Melody and I daubed the outsides with Flirty Flamingo.
Don’t forget to add the flower images as an accent to the sentiment.
I did one of my triple bows and wrapped it around the panels.  Add a little twine in the center and add rhinestones.

Video

The video HERE will show you in more detail how I created this card.  I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed this card with the Bird & Branches bundle.  I think it would be a lot of fun to use other colors and create it horizontally too.  Give it a try!
