Christmas Ornament Fun

October 13, 2019 Leave a Comment

Tim Holtz showed a Christmas Ornament on one of his videos.  When I saw the video I just had to recreate an ornament with the collage tissue.  When Christmas passed I decided to look for the paper mache ornaments and I found them at Joanns Fabric for a very good price.  Because the season was over I got them for a very good price.  I stored them for almost a year and finally created them.  This is what the ornament looked like when I purchased them.

You want to tear the collage tissue into smaller pieces and add them to the orb with collage medium by Ranger.  Once you use the Collage Medium from Ranger to add the collage tissue, it will dry and look like this.  Once they are dry, I added drizzles of Glossy Accents and then added Distress Rock Candy for some sparkle.  I then used the Holtz Loop Pins to add the adornments and a handmade tag that I made with the year and my initials.  I added glossy accents to that also to make sure the year lasts on the tag.

The ribbon is seam binding colored with Barn Red Distress Stain and crinkled it all up to put it in a zip lock back and put a rubber band around it to help it stay crinkled.

This was really a fun and easy project.  Who doesn’t love a handmade ornament!  I hope you will give this a try!

For those of you who don’t know, I am moving and my craft room will be down for a couple of months.  I will be up and running again as soon as possible.  Thank you for your support and for stopping by. The items used on this product are listed below.
