Eeek! I am officially starting my Christmas cards and fell in love with this Merry Moose from Tim Holtz. This die also comes with the cute little tree. There were several steps to this card but I love how it turned out. The Embossing Paste from Altenew is so fluffy and worked perfectly for snow. Half of my jar was gone and it was still as fluffy as the day I bought it. I wanted to give you some tips on how I created this card.
Die cut out all of the pieces first and then put my trees together. I suggest adding your snow to the trees, hills and birch die so they can dry. While the snow is drying I used the distressed inks to create the background. Use a masked circle to cover where you want your moon. Use the same circle punch or die to create a circle as a template when coloring the moon. The Distress Ink and Oxide I used for the sky is Chipped Sapphire, Weathered Wood and a little Black Soot. On the moon I used Antique Linen with a light brush of Hickory Smoke. I did the same with the birch but I also added a little walnut on the edges. I also added a little Walnut to the antlers. With all of these colors I used the Ink first and then the same color in Oxide.
I used some old Tim Holtz Christmas cardstock that I had for the back panel that peeks out from the back of the scene. I used the Stamper’s Anonymous Stitches stamp set to stamp around the very edge of the back panel, it just adds a little something-something in the background. Such a cute card! Thanks so much for posting–quick question, did you ‘pop up’ the hills, or did you trim the flaps and use the hills as a flat component on your card ?

Hi Tryna. Thank you! I had a lot of fun making it. I considered popping them up but with his little legs being so thin I decided to take the tabs off and adhere it all fairly flat. I did pop him up and put a very thin foam square cut for his legs.
