My new Love…. Distress Oxides!

December 30, 2018 2 Comments

I have always been a big fan of Distress Inks, but now I am finding these Oxide inks to be so much fun!

Distress Oxide and Concord & 9th

Concord & 9th have some very nice stamps. For this design I wanted to use a large stamp to emboss in white. This Hello Lovely was a fantastic image!

I used white embossing powder and stamped the image. I then used Abandoned Coral on the flower, Fossilized Amber on the smaller flowers, Bundled Sage on the leaf area, and one of my favorite blues, Weathered Wood, on the surrounding area. The oxides are such fun muted colors. I then used Fun Stampers Journey’s amazing cardstock. I used Whip Cream to stamp the image on, Haystack to frame the image, and Black Licorice to use as the card base. I wanted to tie the black in so I used the same Black Licorice for the “Thanks” from a retired Tim Holtz die set (oops) and of course Black Licorice Silk from FSJ.

When organizing my Oxide Inks, I wanted to find a good solution to organizing my blending foams. I found these amazing containers at Michaels. I used the Ranger Ink organization labels to create all of my labels. Just print and organize!

The video has a little focusing issue going on. I am updating my computer.

I hope you give this a try! This was probably one of the easiest cards I have made. I hope you like it!!
