Velvet Poinsettia Petals

November 24, 2020 Leave a Comment

The Velvet Poinsettia Petals card is full of bling.  Red Velvet Paper, Green Foil and the Plush Poinsettia paper really make this card pop.

 Measurements

A2 card base which is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
Green Foil is 4″ x 5 1/4″ and embossed with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder

Tips and Tricks

I have been wanting to emboss the red velvet paper for some time.  I wasn’t sure how it would work but it is fantastic.  Be careful as you do not have to heat it very long or it will dull and you will lose the shine.
Die cut 6 small poinsettia embossed dies to create the foil gold flowers.  I also used the Metallic Brushed Foil for the sprigs (3).
I also embossed the green foil to create the leaves (3).

Of course I had to tuck in the braided gold thread from the Forever Greenery Trim Trio to add some whispy bling to the card.
Add the Gilded Gems to the center of the Poinsettia.
Add the large red Holiday Rhinestones to the centers of the small flowers.

I created a banner with the sentiment to just put diagonal across the top of the card to finish it off.

The Video for the Velvet Poinsettia Petals is HERE and shows more detail on assembling the card.
