Vintage Poinsettia with the Poinsettia Petals Bundle

September 29, 2020 7 Comments

I can’t get enough of the gorgeous Poinsettia Petals bundle. I love the vintage look of this Vintage Poinsettia card.  Today I am showing you a few steps to make the card from clean and classic to vintage and elegant.  I must say I am in love with the Gold Cards and Envelopes too.

Sometimes too much is too much but in this case I think when you add springs of different elements it really steps the card up.  For example on this card we do the berries, pine, leaves and gold sprigs.  I also added two little poinsettias to create a cluster of 3 flowers.  If you look closely there is a piece of DSP behind the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper.  It is a big more difficult to see in the photo but you can see it and more detail in the video.

The Plush Poinsettia and DSP is measured 3 3/4″ x 4 7/8″.  You want the gold corner and outline to show.

If you look closely you can see the sprinkles of gold embossing powder.  With this embossing powder technique and Very Vanilla cardstock really helps give it a vintage look.  I also spritz the card with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.  Using the Stampin’ Up Spritzer I added a few drops of the shimmer paint in with some water.  You can also add alcohol and this will help the spraying dry faster.

This card shows what the clean and classic looks like.  The only thing different is the dusting of gold embossing powder on the flower and leaves and no shimmer paint.  I wanted to show this version as I know there are those that like clean stamping and not so much the “mixed media” style.  I do love me some mixed media now and again 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this Vintage Poinsettia card. Let me know what you think!

I love your style! And this is one gorgeous card. Quick and easy cards are fine some days, but with Christmas in my heart, it’s too important for our lives to make a quick and easy card. Love all of your details and the balance of elements. Thank you. Merry Christmas.

Your card is one of the, if not THE, most beautiful cards I have ever seen! I missed out on purchasing some of the items you used for your card, but even had I not, I could not have done as well as you have with this card…Stunning!

Yvonne you are just too sweet. I am sure you could do it! Just watch the video. The holiday catalog is still current through the end of the month. Just in case you are still needing anything. I LOVE the Poinsettia set! Thanks again, you made my day.
