With the new Holiday Catalog coming out in a couple of weeks I have so much to share and the Sweetest Time and Borders is another great bundle. The Sweetest Time and Borders bundle can make a cute or elegant card. There are candy canes to create a cute “sweet” card and then there are candles and holly to make an elegant card.
Using the new Envelope Dies is a great way to really tie the card and envelope together. I also wanted to add a little something on the front to make the postal person smile. You will see in the video how easy it is to make multiples by using the Stamparatus.
Technique:
The card stock colors I used were Garden Green and Real Red, and of course Whisper White. I took some Gold Foil paper and slightly ran the holly die so that the top edge of the dies cut but not all the way through. I just wanted the top edges cut so that I didn’t have to fussy cut it. The gold shows through behind the green and adds a nice pop to the card. I also adhered an adhesive sheet to the back of the real red paper and ran the holly die through to get the berries. I think popped them in the holes of the green holly die.
HINT: Don’t poke the red berries out, try to just slide your Pick-A-Tool under the cardstock and leave the plastic of the adhesive sheet attached to the negative card stock. You’ll see this explained on the video.
The printed paper used on the envelope insert and the trim at the bottom of the inside of the card is from the ‘Tis the Season 6 x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Just adding these extra special touches really bring the whole set together.
Just a reminder that the videos do not show up in email. You must click the title of the blog to see the Video.
