While I am anxiously awaiting the new Stampin’ Up Catalog I thought I would play with one of my favorites, Jar of Flowers. I wanted to create an elegant bouquet of flowers and use a few fun techniques. On this first card I used a background dsp that was retired ( duh!!) So I came up with two alternatives.
The video shows the two techniques but the first was to cut 8 strips of the gold foil paper and recreate the background with the black cardstock, and the second was to use tear and tape and gold embossing powder.

Tear and tape and Gold Embossing powder.

See how the three look a little different.
The mason jar was stamped with the solid side of the stamp onto Pale Pink cardstock with Flirty Flamingo ink. I immediately embossed with clear embossing powder. I then used versa mark and embossed the jar lid and the Hello sentiment from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set. This technique makes the jar kind of shimmery/glossy looking and adds a little more flair I think. Adding the gold twine really makes it a WOW look with the gold stripes. I chose an elegant array of colors for the flowers to tie the card together. Don’t forget to color your rhinestones with your alcohol blends.
Here is a video (on my blog) to show more details. I hope you enjoy it.
Don’t forget to Subscribe to both YouTube and this blog. I really appreciate it! My husband doesn’t think I can hit 1000 by the end of June. I want to prove him wrong!
Happy NEW CATALOG launch!
